About
What is the most efficient way? That is the question that guides Vik’s approach. He has developed an in-depth understanding of the law and regulations to meet the urgency inherent to our clients’ business.
There are circumstances when particular regulations simply cannot be met. While some may view this as a stop sign, Vik views it as an opportunity to be creative.
An example of this is when a client could not obtain the prescribed financial information required for its IPO prospectus.
Working with the British Columbia Securities Commission, Vik was able to suggest the use of alternative financial information to satisfy the commission’s requirements.
This was accepted in lieu of the standard requirement, and he successfully completed the offering.
Vik positively contributes to our clients’ bottom line. This includes:
- Leading over $1.2B in financings since 2011
- Translating complicated legal constructs into simple language, saving clients time by deciphering the crux of an issue
- Training and delegating work to junior lawyers and staff, creating a more cost-effective service for our clients
The greatest lesson Vik has learned is to listen. He recognizes that every interaction that we have with one another has only one of two possible outcomes: either we understand, or we do not. Vik understands—where the other party is coming from, where the client wants to go and how to bridge that gap.
Vik constantly looks for inspiration. He finds it in his parents. He finds it in his wife and son. He finds it in people. All of whom he appreciates for having taught him to be accountable, to ask others what they think and to listen. He carries this into his work as he helps clients grow and prosper in their business.
