200-amp service panel. Increased Capacity for Home Devices:
With more devices and appliances added to the average home compared to a decade ago, homes can have serious electrical issues. Most homes now have a full kitchen on the main floor, and an additional kitchen in the basement, which all add to the load on the electrical panel. With the addition of a central AC unit and a vacuum in the basement, and a hot tub in the backyard, the electrical panel can become overcrowded.
Many homeowners are also becoming proud owners of Tesla vehicles, which require 200-amp service in the home. Imagine purchasing a new construction home with 100-amp service, only to realize you need to upgrade the panel to bring in a Tesla!
The Benefits of Upgrading to 200 Amp Service:
Upgrading to a 200-amp service panel reduces power surges, extending the lifespan of your devices. It can run your panel more efficiently, reduce your home insurance premiums because it's safer, and prevent electrical fires in your home by reducing overcrowding in the panel. Upgrading to a 200-amp service panel can boost the value of your home for resale.
We Install EV Chargers: Tesla, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, BMW, Toyota:
We install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, providing a top-of-the-line home charging station that ensures your electric vehicle is always charged up and ready to hit the road.
Electric Vehicle Charging Systems:
Homes generally require an electrical service with a capacity of 200 amp. If your home currently has a 100-amp service, it might need to upgrade to a 200-amp panel that allows level 2 charging with 200 AMP electric service.
The EV Car Charger Installation Process:
When it comes to installing an EV charger, one of the great advantages is the flexibility of location. Whether you want the charging unit inside your garage or mounted outside, you have the choice to choose the spot that's most convenient for you. Generally, a location inside the garage close to the electrical panel is the preferred option for many homeowners due to ease of wiring and protection from the elements. Our team is here to offer guidance and expertise to help determine the most practical and effective location for your charger.
Mounting EV Charger and Wiring:
The installation process for an EV charger involves planning the most efficient route from your electrical panel to the charger's location, considering the distance and any obstacles in the path. We then install a protective conduit along this route through which the electrical wire is run. This wire, protected by the conduit, carries the electrical current from your panel to the EV charger. After securely connecting one end of the wire to a dedicated breaker in your panel and the other to your EV charger, we conduct a thorough testing process to ensure everything functions correctly. Working with electrical systems requires expertise and safety precautions, which is why it is essential to have such work handled by licensed professionals.
Level 1 vs. Level 2 Charging:
Electric vehicles have different levels and types of charging that use different voltages and amperages to run. There are three levels of charging for electric vehicles. Typically, level 1 and level 2 are used for at-home charging.
Level 1: This is a charge that uses a standard 120 Volt household outlet, which is the slowest speed of charging for an electric vehicle. 120 Volts, 15 Amp, or 20 Amp.
Level 2: Level 2 charging stations have about the same requirements as a household appliance like a stove or dryer. 240 Volts, 30 Amp, 40 Amp, or 60 Amp. Level 2 offers a faster charging time than level 1.
Level 3: Level 3 charging stations are designed for commercial use and are not suitable for home installation.
Electrical Troubleshooting:
Electrical troubleshooting is the process of analyzing the behavior or operation of a faulty electrical circuit to determine what is wrong with the circuit. Troubleshooting involves identifying the defective electrical components and repairing the circuit. Sometimes, electrical problems are easy to identify and the problem component is easily visible, such as a defective plug with visible signs of burning. However, an intermittent problem caused by a high resistance connection can be much more difficult to find.
In Ontario, if you're hiring someone to do electrical work in your home, by law it must be a Licensed Electrical Contractor with an ECRAESA electrical contracting license.
Our installations are guaranteed free from error with a full parts and labor warranty, so you'll feel safe knowing that no further expenses will be incurred from a faulty installation.
Working as an Electrician in Ontario:
Electrical contractors in Ontario are required to have a valid ECRAESA (Electrical Contractors Registration Agency Electrical Safety Authority) license to work in the province of Ontario. The ECRAESA is an organization responsible for the licensing and regulation of electrical contractors in Ontario. The Electrical Safety Authority regulates and enforces electrical safety requirements in Ontario.
Upgrading to a 200-amp service panel boosts your home's value. We install EV chargers for Tesla and other electric vehicles.
