Hello, I am a fourth-year B.Sc. Computing Science student at the University of Alberta and have been awarded the International Student Scholarship. I have an amazing tutoring experience of more than 3 years and have taught students from 12 years to 40 years. I believe that tutoring is always a 2-way relationship, I can teach lots and can learn lots from my students as well. My teaching style is flexible and relevant to the student. After covering concepts in the syllabus (and extra, depending upon how much more the student wants to explore) I have doubt sessions and give practice questions and exams to students which have diverse questions, and mostly focus on the improvement areas of the student. I also give timed tests to mock the testing environment which has had a positive impact on my students' grades. I also try to give as many daily life examples as possible so the student can understand where and why is a concept applied, and can visualize concepts better. I have taught students both individually and in groups, and in-person and online.
I have also designed parts of AI and Database courses with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) for the AIPP Program to be offered in Norquest soon. I am currently a Data Analyst intern with ATB Financial as well and have volunteered with PainWorth (a data-driven startup) as a Data Science Student.
I have helped students learn Python, C, C++, and SQL. I have also taught Hindi and Punjabi to native Canadians. One of my Punjabi students, Kyle now talks easily in Punjabi. You can check out his videos on Instagram and YouTube. His handle and channel name is friendly_neighborhood_gora.
