Toronto-based sarod maestro Arnab Chakrabarty is a world-class artist known for his emotive virtuosity and cerebral engagement with classical raga music.
The main instruments taught are sarod and sitar, but Mr Chakrabarty also offers intermediate and advanced lessons to learners who have established technique on other instruments such as the violin, guitar, rudra veena, surbahar, sarangi and others. Chakrabarty is also one of the very few musicians in the world who know how to play the 19th century sursringar in the Dhrupad style. All musicians needing ear training, exposure to just intonation, and improvisation skills are also welcome to get in touch.
You are invited to take advantage of the presence, in the GTA, of one of the few true masters of instrumental Indian classical music. All lessons are delivered via Zoom or in person, in Burlington. Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory for all in-person contact.
A minimum commitment of one hour’s timed practice per day is a prerequisite for these lessons.
We do not sell instruments, but are able to put you in touch with the relevant instrument makers.
Sincerely,
