“Devotees of Indian food rightly praise its nutritional value, while the economy-minded like the pricing. We met that crossroads of healthy eating and good pricing again at Shehnai, a small eatery near Main Street West and Dundurn Street on two visits.
First I grazed the lunch buffet, which is advertised as all-you-can-eat, and enjoyed a sampling of several streaming pots available.
I tried the mixed vegetable, a mild mingling of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, beans, and potatoes, tandoori chicken and aloo gobi, a combination of cauliflower and potato, as well as a personal favourite, butter chicken.
…Folks who like beer with Indian food should note there are a couple of Indian bottled varieties as well as some British product on tap, Newcastle Brown Ale and Double Diamond.
Service was prompt and polite, meaning a worthy experience from start to finish.”
