At Ishina Distinguished Indian Cuisine, we are a family run and operated business established in the Ottawa area.
We previously managed a well-established Indian restaurant also in the Ottawa area, and decided to venture out into managing and operating our own food business.
In 2003, we opened Ishina Distinguished Cuisine, which was named after our two daughters, Ishleen and Gina, who also help run the family business.
Our company specializes in authentic Indian cuisine prepared with the freshest fruits and vegetables, the best locally raised meats, and classic Indian seasonings made in our own kitchen.
Our tasty dishes are available at our restaurant, as well as through our catering and take out services.
Our company has a large portfolio of experience, which includes catering for the former prime minister Paul Martin and Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty, both who were guests at Ottawa area fundraisers catered by Ishina.
We have donated our services to non-profit organizations for special events of multiregional and regional food festivals, as well as catered for several local companies including Claridge Homes, Phoenix Homes and Ottawa Honda.
Our authentic Indian cuisine is also served in several high-tech company cafeterias through Eurest Dining Services (Compass Group).
Our extensive line of takeout foods are available in Ottawa area stores including Rainbow Natural Foods, Herb and Spice Shop, Epicuria, India Food Centre, Sachis Cafeterias, Natural Food Pantry and several other locations in Ottawa, Cornwall and Arnprior.

Parminder “Nippi” Chhatwal • Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations, Nippi is responsible for overseeing the Sales, Marketing and the overall administration of the business. Nippi has been managing businesses in India and now in Canada for over 30 years.
His vast experience and knowledge has indeed flourished the business.
Nippi being the soul of this operation is always ready to help and deliver any culinary challenge. His ever smiling face and humble approach makes dealing with him a very pleasant experience.
Manpreet “Baby” Chhatwal • Director & Executive Chef
If Nippi is the soul, then Baby is the heart of the business. She has been a achef for the last 15 years and has managed several Restaurants all over Canada.
Her passion for fine cuisine is a testimonial to her creativity and the artistic expression in her dishes.
She is always creating new dishes with a unique flair and those who are fortunate to know her personally would attest that she cuts no corners when she prepares food for her clients.
Although cooking was not her chosen field, we are extremely happy that her passion is offering us an abundance of new epicurean delights to enjoy.
Gina Chhatwal • Chef
Just like her mother Gina has passion and love for cooking. For 2 years she studied the Art of Fine Indian Cuisine at one of the most prestigious culinary schools in India.
She also trained in the finest Hotels in India under renowned chefs before she started to manage the family business.
Gina has this burning desire to take the family business to greater heights amd one day would like to see Ishina and its products a household name throughout Canada.
Ishleen Chhatwal • Event Planner & Business Manager
Ishleen completed her education in Business and Event Management. Her excellent managing skills give the edge to manage the business on a daily basis. Beside her administration skills, Ish loves to plan and create special events.
