Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Humaira pursued her dreams and began practicing law in 2001 in Montreal with a focus on Bankruptcy, Commercial, Criminal, Civil Responsibility, and Family Law.
Humaira moved to Pakistan where she worked as the Legal Advisor for the International Committee of the Red Cross with a focus on International Humanitarian Law and the Law of War.
Humaira moved back to Canada and relocated to Edmonton, Alberta to further pursue her law career. Humaira continues to have a strong passion for Family Law and Civil Litigation and these continue to be the main focus of her practice.
Humaira has appeared at all levels of Court in Quebec and Alberta, including the Court of Appeal, as well as at the Federal Court of Canada.
Humaira has taught innumerable courses and hosted several conferences in the field of International Humanitarian Law for all levels of public and government officials. She has been a chair, speaker, instructor and presenter for numerous events that were organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Outside the profession, Humaira has been actively involved in promoting the importance of education for women in third world countries, supporting various Pakistani or Islamic community organizations, and continued involvement with national and international humanitarian organizations.
In addition to English, Humaira speaks Urdu, Punjabi, French, intermediate Arabic, and intermediate German.
