Hi, My name is Bilal Mohammed, and I've been tutoring on and off for the past 10 years. My main expertise is tutoring Math and Science-based courses to students in highschool, mainly Grade 10-12 but I have experience teaching students in elementary/middle school, as well as some 1st and 2nd year biology courses. I have a wide range of teaching experiences which I feel make me the best suited to help your child reach their academic potential. Here are a few of my related achievements in this field: 1) Took a CELTA teaching course, focusing on teaching ESL and taught for a year in a university prep course. I also taught conversation classes in the evenings. 2) Was in charge of teaching two 2nd year biology courses at York (BIOL 2020 & BIOL 2021) as part of the PASS program at York University for one year. I would run two session a week reviewing concepts from the class, as well as making mock tests to prepare for exams 3) Help to develop a mentorship program for a student club at my university, where we would be paired up with 1 or 2 students in a lower year and help guide them/give advice to help them reach their academic goals 4) Numerous tutees throughout the last 10 years; teaching Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and English
I generally charge $25/hour for my sessions, and with each tutee, I try my best to identify which areas the student needs improvement in, and try and focus my lessons on those points.
For any last minute exam prep, I can even create mock exams for the students to practice for an extra charge.
