CJMR 1320 serves the Greater Toronto Area, and with over 650,000 people of South Asian background in our coverage area, CJMR 1320 is the biggest and most powerful broadcaster in the community with over 120 hours each week in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati!
In November 2011, CJMR 1320 and our dedicated South Asian listeners raised over $104,000 for the Seva Food Bank during a one day "radiothon"! Those efforts continued with a food drive where listeners also donated over 60,000 lbs of food! With our fundraising efforts gaining exposure through several different media outlets, CJMR 1320 demonstrated its position as the South Asian community's number one media source in the GTA.
CJMR 1320 also features the number one Polish morning show, Radio 7 each weekday, as well as the international Polish religious program "Radio Maryja" seven days a week.
"Song Of Ukraine" has served the Ukrainian community on CJMR 1320 for several decades, and "That Night At The Opera" in Italian has been a regular program with our stations for over 50 years!
With other programs in Portuguese, Croatian, Romanian, Mandarin, Dutch, Spanish, Russian, and Tagalog, CJMR 1320 is the premiere radio station for advertisers trying to reach both new and established generations of immigrants from all parts of the global community.

CJMR 1320 first signed on the air live from the chambers of what was the first council meeting for the newly formed city of Mississauga in 1974. At that time, the frequency was 1190 and it was confined to the status of a daytime station for the first years of service before it changed to the 1320 frequency in 1990. CJMR 1320 was proud to carry games for the Toronto Blue Jays.
CJMR 1320 is owned by Trafalgar Broadcasting Ltd., part of the Caine family's independent radio stations. Broadcasting Hall of Fame members Howard and Jean Caine created CHWO in 1956, with the station credited as being one of the first in Canada to carry Multi-Cultural programming.

Raj Ghuman, who holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Music, and Harjot Ghuman-Matharu, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and English, strive to eliminate possible stereotypes each generation has of the other while creating entertaining content for all the listeners to enjoy.
Raj Ghuman is a Punjabi icon as a singer with 7 albums in the music market and over 16 years in the GTA media. She has become a household name in Punjabi homes across southern-Ontario as well as throughout the world.
As an artist, she has worked to highlight local talent and create quality segments that are both family-friendly and inspiring.
Born and raised in the GTA, Harjot Ghuman-Matharu has stuck close to her roots by being involved in the community throughout her life.
Acting in over 15 stage productions throughout Canada, performing and choreographing folk dance and song since the age of 8, and now pursuing writing and producing career, Harjot hopes to become a voice for a rising demographic of bi-cultural Canadians.
