Conseil scolaire Centre-Nord (Greater North Central Francophone Education Region No.2) is the largest Francophone school district in Alberta with over 3,368 students attending our 19 Francophone schools - catholic or public - in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Jasper, Legal, Red Deer, St. Albert, Wainwright, Beaumont, Camrose, Sherwood Park, and Llydminster. Over 350 employees work in this organization. We offer many advantages, to list only a few: free bus transportation, full-time kindergarten, on-site preschool, daycare/after-school care in various schools.French first language education is intended for children who are eligible under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Studies and experience have shown that francophone schooling is the most effective way for a francophone child living in a minority setting to become highly proficient in French AND in English.
