Family Dentistry
We go beyond regular cleanings at Sheppard Village Dental as we are big advocates for gum health. For every patient, we promote a rigorous soft tissue management program as part of a more holistic approach to oral care fitting into a patient’s overall health. We believe that a healthy mouth is a good start to a healthy body.
We treat our patients based on their need and develop a cleaning schedule accordingly. We offer routine cleanings with scaling and root planing as a regular treatment to clean tartar and calculus. We thrive on working together with our patients to achieve the healthiest results possible.
Children’s Dentistry
Sheppard Village Dental has experience with kids of all ages, starting as young as 1 year old. Both our hygienist and dental team have been trained for making early dentist appointments a fun experience for the young patient.
Orthodontics
At Sheppard Village Dental, we begin accepting patients for Orthodontic Pre-Screenings as young as age 7. However, Orthodontic treatments are an available option for anyone with teeth that are crowded, rotated, or crooked.
When the jaw and/or teeth do not fit together properly, damage such as fractures, chipping and extreme wear and tear can happen to the teeth. Orthodontic treatment can prevent these types of issues and provide a beautiful smile with straight teeth.
Sealants
When a child’s first molars come in around age 6, there are natural deep grooves in the teeth that can easily become cavity areas. To help reduce cavities in molars and other high risk teeth, Sheppard Village Dental can apply a Sealant plastic coating over the top of each tooth to prevent any potential damage. The procedure only takes a few minutes, but will help provide long-term oral health for the teeth as the patient grows.
Dentures
We understand the importance of having a beautiful smile. Dentures are an alternative to implants or crowns that make for a natural-looking smile that people will admire. At Sheppard Village Dental, we can arrange for both partial dentures to fill small gaps or individual teeth, or complete dentures for the entire mouth. Our team will work diligently to get your dentures developed quickly and properly so you can be proud of your smile.
Root Canal
At Sheppard Village Dental, we bust the myth that root canals are a painful and unpleasant procedure. Even the most diligent cleaning routines might not protect your teeth from bacteria. If you are experiencing tooth pain or gum discomfort, you may be in need of root canal therapy. We use extremely gentle laser technology for precision and maximum comfort during root canal therapy. Extractions
We’ve been told that having teeth pulled seems scary, but we disagree. Sheppard Village Dental can ensure a comfortable experience during extractions by using our high-tech laser for a quick and painless procedure. Don’t let toothaches or infections hold you back. At Sheppard Village Dental, you’re in good hands. We offer sedation to make your visit very comfortable our specialists bring years of experience along with great chair-side manner.
Sedation Dentistry
We understand that dental procedures can cause anxiety, but we want our patients to feel as comfortable as possible. Sheppard Village Dental can use IV Sedation upon our patient’s’ request. In addition, we also use local anaesthetics. Give us a call and ask us about our sedation options for nervous patients.
Laser Dentistry

At Sheppard Village Dental, we have a state-of-the-art Waterlase Dental Laser at our facility that can be used in most dental treatments (including extractions, gum treatment, bone regeneration, periodontal work, etc.). TMD Management
TMD is a series of symptoms that begin in the jaw joints and spread to other parts of the upper body. The jaw joints and its surrounding muscles can become inflamed causing symptoms such as headaches; ear and jaw pain or tenderness; tension or stiffness in the neck and shoulders; limited mobility of the jaw; tooth sensitivity; and more. We can help you manage these symptoms and work towards preventing chronic pain.
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns (also called caps) are shells that fit over a single tooth to protect teeth from fracturing and needing extraction.. They are also placed onto teeth that have undergone root canal procedures or are an alternative to fillings.
Bridges have a similar function to Crowns, but include solid teeth-like pontics that are used to fill missing tooth spaces. These are the best option when the patient is missing only a couple of teeth and wants to avoid dentures or implants.
