Clinical Interest
Main area of research focus is kidney disease, including renal cell carcinoma and renal transplantation.
Recent investigations include cell signaling pathways involved in localized and metastatic renal cell cancer, examining the role of pTEN, cdk11, and the mTOR pathway; and therapeutic targeting of the mTOR pathway using the mTOR inhibitors, in metastatic renal cell cancer.
In the transplant field, examination of the role of mTOR inhibitors in allograft function and malignancy including the cell signaling pathways.
Other areas of research interest include the role of minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of urologic malignancies, including robotic platforms.
