About
We’ve come a long way since our first home in 1989.
Cresco was established in 1989 by Hossein Mousavi and his partners. Five years later Taleb Abidali joined the company.
Hossein and Taleb always had big plans for Cresco. Although they started with smaller projects, they were always motivated to grow.
In 2006, after years of determination, Cresco’s biggest accomplishment came to fruition.
Cresco acquired 1,300+ acres of land which is now The Parks of West Bedford.
The Principals recognized this would be a massive 25-year undertaking for Cresco on its own, and signaled a change of direction for the company.
Now partnered with Clayton Developments, Cresco is planning on building for years to come.
Today, Cresco has a total of 18 employees, with many loyal trades working in the communities – some that have been with Cresco since the beginning.
These relationships have helped Cresco grow into the organization it is today.
Progressive thinking
We place an emphasis on offering ample green space, plenty of sidewalks and amenities, and lots of room for families to live active lifestyles.
Cresco has re-defined neighbourhoods by introducing Nova Scotia to active lifestyle communities, including:
Russell Lake West (Dartmouth)
The Parks of West Bedford
The Ravines of Bedford South
Clayton Park West
Paper Mill Lake (Bedford)
These well-established communities are now highly sought-after locations because of the significant consideration which was originally made to features like accessibility, schools, sporting activities, leisure pursuits and shopping.
Currently, Cresco is building homes for sale in Russell Lake West, The Parks of West Bedford, and The Ravines of Bedford South. New developments are planned for the future.
Hossein MousaviPrincipal (since 1989)
Prior to founding Cresco in 1989, Hossein began his university education with his eye on a medical degree.
However, his artistic heart won him over, and with a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Francis Xavier University in hand, he followed his dream into home renovations.
Today, Hossein is widely respected for his visionary methods and progressive thinking when planning communities.
His ideas and input on home building industry trends are regularly sought out by various organizations. Hossein and his wife, Darlene, have three children.
Taleb AbidaliPrincipal (since 1994)
Taleb has a long history in the construction field and joined Cresco as a Principal in 1994. But his first career began with children as a physical education teacher.
With six children and four grandchildren of his own, he is a strong advocate of education, health and cultural diversity, values that deeply influence Cresco’s commitment to active lifestyle communities.
Taleb was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Saint Mary’s University in 2015.
He has been a member of the Bedford South Advisory School Board, Halifax Region Immigration Leadership Council, and the School Advisory Committee for Rocky Lake Junior High School.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cobequid Community Health Centre and is the Chair of the Alrasoul Islamic Society. He has been instrumental in raising significant funds for both organizations.
