Shafaq AHMAD, B.A., J.D., LL.B.
Shafaq’s professional focus is on advising clients with prompt and practical legal advice. Her principal area of practice is Real Estate Law.
In her real estate practice, Shafaq assists clients with all aspects of their real estate legal needs. She advises on purchase and sales of houses and condominiums, including purchases from builders. Shafaq also provides advice on refinancing mortgages and/or lines of credit. In addition, Shafaq has extensive experience advising commercial landlords, property managers and commercial tenants in respect of commercial leasing matters.
Prior to forming AHMAD LAW, Shafaq worked for several years as a Real Estate Associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, one of Canada’s largest law firms, and later developed an extensive background in health law and privacy. Throughout her career, Shafaq remains an active member of several charities in a variety of roles.
Shafaq graduated cum laude from a dual Canadian and American law degree program, obtaining a Bachelors of Law (LL.B) from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. Prior to law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. Shafaq is licensed to practice law in Ontario and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Shafaq is an avid basketball fan (#wethenorth) and is passionate about ethical and sustainable fashion. She is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi.
