Hello All!
I am Mr. Grewal, and I am an aspiring High School Chemistry Teacher. I am currently a student teacher doing my practicum, and I want to offer my tutoring services to the People of the Lower Mainland!
I want to help prospective post-secondary students who need extra help to reach that 90%+ percentage range to remain competitive for post-secondary science entry across Canada.
I am also offering my services to current science post-secondary students who need extra help understanding complicated chemistry topics, or even help with Lab Reports or Assignments.
I have over 10 years of peer tutoring experience starting in High School and continuing throughout my undergraduate academic career. I thought it would be natural for me to pursue teaching as my career and looking forward to more opportunities to perfect my teaching craft.
I have helped high school students in many topics including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, and their AP counterparts. I also have experience tutoring students at a post-secondary level in courses like General, Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Nuclear, and Analytical Chemistry. I have recently obtained classroom experience in Science 9, 10, and AP Chemistry 11 + 12
Please feel free to contact me!
My Teaching Credo:
I have always known that I have a talent of explaining complicated science concepts, into digestible, easy to understand, and relatable means. If you are looking for some extra help, please feel free to contact me and I will help you out! I understand the different IEPs students may possess and can tailor my lessons around each individual student’s needs. I am persistent, approachable, and knowledgeable. Everyone has their own individual learning needs, and I stride to make sure you fully understand the topic through whatever means works with you the best. I can create learning opportunities which will help you stay engaged in understanding the topic through student centered activities. I inspire students to be their best self, however I am looking for students with a strong work ethic to get the most out of the time we will have together.

About Me:
After High School accepted into all science programs offered across Canada, picked McGill University in Montreal, and majored in Anatomy and Cell Biology. I discovered that I have a natural talent for Chemistry and moved back here home to BC to finish up my bachelor’s degree in chemistry at SFU. I graduated SFU in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry with a 3.50 GPA, I am currently enrolled in the SFU PDP teaching program and recently obtained a Bachelor of Education majoring in Secondary Teaching in 2021.
Testimonials: “....I would like to say that having Mr. Grewal as a teacher…was a real joyful, interesting, thankful and lastly an adventurous time…I would like to deeply appreciate him for putting his best effort in every single class, whether the outcome was good or not good. He always had a well-prepared PowerPoint for the lesson, and I could see that he always tried to figure out the way that, not the teacher, but the students can enjoy the lessons. Moreover, one thing that I truly admire that he did in the class was helping students individually…I think individual help from the teacher has so much power towards student’s learning and in every lesson, Mr. Grewal always asked if anybody needs help…he walked around the room and tried to help as much as he could. This is one thing I wish him to not lose in his career….Mr. Grewal was one of the teachers that most students want to meet again next year…” “......Overall, I felt you did a great job teaching us. Your methods of instruction, such as videos and PowerPoint, provided us with good reference material. I also found you to be approachable whenever I had questions. Sorry I had lots of questions…I think you would make a great teacher…” “....as an international student…your teaching attitude and working ethics did make me feel how great, warm, inclusive the big community is. Whenever I had a question…I always received fast and accurate replies. Your enthusiasm and passion for teaching chemistry inspired me to do better in chemistry and always put my best foot forward…” “...I wanted to say that I appreciate your teaching, it was fun when we got to banter with questions back and forth and I felt it really expanded my knowledge… you did a great job teaching the class, especially for someone who was their first time teaching…” “....I wanted to thank you for the past 10 weeks….just know that the time you spent planning our lessons, creating, and marking tests (which probably took hours), did not go unnoticed! I’m sure your schedule was jam packed, and yet you still took the time to answer our additional questions outside of class. We truly appreciate everything you did! ...” “...I had a lot of fun in your class…it was a great experience! ...” “....I hope you’re doing well, most of us miss you and thought you were a really cool guy…”
