We are looking for kitchen help for the morning to afternoon shift. Must have previous experience working in a Caribbean restaurant kitchen and know how to prepare and cook roti, doubles and other Caribbean/Trinidadian dishes. Must also have some experience assembling take-out orders. Must be able to work Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, and also Mondays when needed. (Note: due to the pandemic days and hours may vary according to our needs). Duties include cooking (preparing roti and other menu items according to our recipes) stocking the hot counter/serving station preparing and assembling customers’ food orders at the hot counter and grill keeping track of inventory to ensure there is sufficient quantity at all times maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, including washing and putting away pots/pans/utensils, wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, trash removal performing other tasks, as required Skills cooking and working with dough able to operate kitchen equipment such as food processor, dough sheeter, potato dicer, griddle, combi oven good knife skills live fire grilling experience would be an asset Requirements punctual and reliable team player able to take direction physically fit; able to lift and wash heavy pots and carry items up to 50 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs able to stand for long periods of time valid Food Handler Certificate excellent English Please do not apply if you do not have the experience and qualifications we are looking for.
