Dr. Johal grew up in Surrey and graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary.
He obtained his undergraduate education in behavioral neuroscience from UBC. Dr. Johal completed his post-graduate training as the Chief Resident in family medicine at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
Dr. Johal's professional interests include participation with the Peace Arch Hospital's Hospitalist program, preventative medicine and complex disease management.
Dr. Johal is also a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Medical Faculty Outside of work Dr. Johal enjoys playing Hockey, Tennis, snowboarding and spending time outdoors.
