An Alameda institution for over 60 years.
First opened in 1953, Al’s Barber Shop has maintained a long legacy of quality and professionalism. After Al Vigna's retirement in 2014, the shop was passed down to long-time protegé Nick Vlahos and fellow barbers Brad Roberts and Joe Polissky. After a brief hiatus, Al’s is back with an updated space, ready to provide our community with top-notch service and quality.

HAIRCUT
$40
A short, tapered hairstyle tailored to your exact specifications. Includes a straight-razor shave on the nape with a hot towel, lather, and after-shave splash treatment.
BEARD TRIM
$25
Beard or mustache trimming and shaping performed with clippers and shears to your exact specification.
SHAVE
$60
Traditional straight razor shave including a pre-shave oil treatment, hot towels, warm lather, and post-shave balm.
Shop Policies
We understand that circumstances arise that require canceling or rescheduling an appointment. The following policies are established to ensure that we can provide all of our valued clients with the best possible service and experience.
CANCELLATIONS:
12-hour advanced notice is required for any appointment cancellations. This allows ample time for another client seeking service to make an appointment online. Any cancellations or modifications within 12-hours will be subject to paying the full price of the service prior to any future services. Our online appointment service will allow you to cancel or modify your appointment. You can also cancel or modify your appointment by clicking the “Modify Your Appointment” button at the bottom of the confirmation e-mail you received after scheduling your service.
NO SHOW:
Failure to show up for a scheduled appointment without canceling online, or without first contacting the shop by e-mail will cause the client to be charged for the full price of the missed service. Our phone/outgoing voicemail is for informational purposes only. Please do not leave a voice message.
LATE ARRIVALS:
To ensure that we deliver the best possible service to all of our valued clients, we have allotted the necessary time to complete each appointment and provide a great experience. Arriving on time for your scheduled service is imperative for us to comfortably complete your service. Regretfully, we cannot adequately complete any service if a client arrives more than 10 minutes late (5 minutes late for beard-trim only service). We reserve the right to respectfully decline service to a client who is over 10 minutes late for their scheduled appointment.
